LUkas Nelsons Flight Training

Lukas Nelson had always loved Maui’s beauty from the ground — but flying above it was a dream he couldn’t shake. Between touring, recording, and spending time at home, he started training right here on the island, determined to earn his pilot’s license locally.

He began his lessons at Fly Maui, learning the basics out of Kahului and practicing landings in Hāna and along the coast. Even with a busy schedule, Lukas kept showing up — studying, flying whenever he could, and staying committed to the process.

After months of hard work, early flights, and a lot of island-hopping lessons, Lukas officially earned his Private Pilot License — all here on Maui. His journey shows that with the right mindset (and the right island views), you can make your aviation dreams happen right here at home.
